AEDS group is a research group of the University of Girona. It is a multidisciplinary group of 60 people size, whose half are PhD students. AEDS group is integrated in the Computer Science and Applications Institute. Researchers of the group belong to the following disciplines:

Systems and Automation Engineering
Computer Architecture and Technology
Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence

The research developed by the group is centered in relevant fields of Information and Communication Technologies. The main research lines are Artificial Intel·ligence, Process Supervision, Systems Engineering and Communications Technologies. The group has participated in 2 European projects (one GROWTH and onother one of the 5th IST framework program) and in the Marie Curie program too. Researchers of the group have lidered 18 national competitive projects. Regarding technology transfer, the group has had an income of more than 200.000 € in the last 4 years. Regarding teaching, AEDS people has deployed a PhD program that was awarded wiht a quality distinction by the Spanish Goverment since 2003, and selected as a quality program in the IQUC project promoted by the Autonomous Goverment of Catalonia since 2002. Two of the three itineraris of the PhD program are in charge of researchers of the group. AEDS belongs and coordinates different European and national networks. It has organized 5 national and international workshops.

Finally, the AEDS group was awarded with a consolidated distinction for the 2005-2008 period in the Consolidated Research Group (SGR) project of the Generalitat de Catalunya. This award was accompaigned by a budged of 34.600 € in 4 years.
